John “Hurricane” Crossman Honored by ICSC for Scholarship Efforts

TALLAHASSEE, FL – When John Crossman agreed to head the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Foundation’s scholarship fundraising initiative, he hoped to achieve a goal of $100,000. He and his team achieved that goal…eight times over. In all, Crossman and his colleagues raised over $800,000 in scholarship funds at 30 colleges and universities across the country.

It was about maximizing our ability to reach the next generation of professionals,” Crossman said. “Those of us who have achieved any measure of success have an obligation to foster tomorrow’s leaders. It would be wrong not to help those who will someday take our reins.”

ICSC is the premier global trade association of the shopping center industry. Its more than 65,000 members in over 100 countries include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, retailers and brokers, as well as academics and public officials.  Students who will benefit from ICSC scholarships will likely major in related fields of interest.
