Crossman & Company’s Thomas Bolen to speak during Next Generation National Conference

11779977_1456717357964206_628350795293432792_o-300x200Orlando, Fla. – Crossman & Company’s Consulting Associate Thomas Bolen will serve as a featured speaker at the Next Generation National Conference on July 27.

Bolen, a 2015-16 International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Foundation Fiala Fellowship recpient, will speak about his Fiala Fellowship project, which aims to increase the representation of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and its students within ICSC. Of the more than 1,400 student members in the ICSC, only 17 of them are HBCU students; and only two of the more than 400 schools represented within the ICSC are HBCUs. He will push to double the HBCU’s student membership and to increase the HBCU’s representation from two schools to eight schools. Bolen also will lay the groundwork for the first HBCU to be exhibiting at RECon, ICSC’s global retail real estate convention held in Las Vegas.

“There is no better place to kick off my Fiala Fellowship project than at ICSC’s Next Generation National Conference where the future of the industry is present. We have much work to do. I am dedicated to the mission – in fact, I will be taking time while at the Next Gen Conference to meet with the leaders at Florida Memorial University,” Bolen said.

Bolen’s presentation will take place at 1:10 p.m. on Monday, July 27 at JW Marriott Marquis, in Miami. The three-day Next Generation National Conference begins July 26.
