John Crossman Appointed to Valencia College District Board of Trustees
ORLANDO, FL – Gov. Rick Scott has appointed John Crossman to the Valencia College District Board of Trustees. Crossman becomes one of the eight Trustees who guide the development of Valencia College.
Like the other 27 community colleges in the state, Valencia’s Board of Trustees is made up of citizens who serve without pay and are legally vested with decision-making power in all matters of college policy, programs, building, budget and personnel.
“Valencia College is the top community college in the nation, offering a quality, affordable education to thousands of students each year. Staying at the top means growing and changing as our community grows and changes. It’s important that Valencia continues to not only meet the community’s needs, but to anticipate those needs,” said Crossman. “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to help make this happen.”
President of Crossman & Company, the new Trustee is involved with a number of colleges and universities. He is the youngest-ever member of the Florida State University College of Business Hall of Fame, has been named an honorary alumnus of the University of Florida, serves on the Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) Foundation Board and is helping launch a real estate program at Bethune-Cookman University.
